The How Not to Cook Book was published as part of a project by artist Aleksandra Mir, commissioned by Collective. Developed through Aleksandra’s interest in how we are taught or teach ourselves, the events and subsequent publication aimed to alter perceptions of both public art, public space and our relationship to failure.
While a typical cook book provides you with a recipe for success, it doesn’t take into account the ways in which the execution can fail. Based on the artist’s personal history of cooking disasters, The How Not to Cook Book catalogues 1000 stories from around the world on how not to cook.
