A series of portraits of Calton Hill by photographer Alan Dimmick draw attention to transitory moments and personal souvenir images captured by visitors to the hill amongst monuments to Edinburgh’s history.

Alan Dimmick is a Glasgow-based photographer best known for his black and white documentation of the art scene in Scotland. From snapshots of artists at
home and in their studios, to exhibition openings and performances at venues throughout Scotland, Dimmick’s unique and growing archive contains thousands of images that chronicle an important part of the recent history of Scottish culture.
