Ross Sinclair has been a leading figure in the collaboration between art and music in Scotland over the last two decades. Free Instruments for Teenagers was a vinyl sampler produced as part of 20 Years of Real Life, which marked 20 years since Ross began his Real Life series.
The Free Instruments for Teenagers project gave away instruments to young people born in the last 20 years so they could form bands. The bands worked with Collective and Ross through a series of workshops with invited artists and musicians, to write, record and perform new music.
The three bands who took part in Free Instruments for Teenagers were: Appear Invisible; Bedroom Athlete; and Enemy Fire.
